Corbett Hideaway, true to its name is a hideaway in the jungles
around Corbett concealed under thick cover of Mango grove. Located in
a hilly district of Garjia, the place rests quietly between Corbett
and Kosi river. However once here, you will feel like it is a part of
the National Park itself. An ideal retreat into the lap of nature,
Corbett Hideaway is the perfect place to be with friends or family,
for adventure and relaxing. The Hideway resort, spread over 13 acres of forest
land, is a perfect place if you are on a vacation to Corbett National
Park.
The mango grove adds a unique charm to the resort. If you chance to
visit here in the ripening season then be prepared for a mouth
watering sight as the luscious mangoes hang right outside your room.
There are a total of 176 mango trees and if that is not enough, then
there are also a plenty of jackfruit trees right near the reception
area making a pretty welcome site. Rainflower, ticoma, gandharaja,
haemelia, azelea just quietly add to the wild yet serene beauty of the
place, not to miss the bamboo trees in between.
The only sounds you hear is that of the Kosi river making its way on
the pebble ridden path and chirping myriad birds. It is an abode which
brings you one to one with nature with all the modern day amenities to
ensure complete comfort during your stay.
Cottages - Rustic Yet Comfortable
40 cottages, rustic red cottages of the Hideway resort with the calm peaceful surroundings
lend you that feel of being out in the wild. The cottages are so well
made, the stone floors the rugs, block wood furniture and the sloping
tiled roofs do not let the feeling of taking a wild trip slip away.
The rooms are all well equipped with modern day equipments, hot water
baths, refrigerator etc that you get the feeling of staying out in
wild yet quite comfortable. The cottages are so placed that it gives
the feeling of having so much space by yourself. Even the interiors
are so cleverly done that they make for separate living and sleeping.
Even if you are not in the mood for some outdoor adventure then the
cottages are a perfect retreat to relax and just be yourself close to
the nature.
Dine In Wild Thatched Roofs Restaurant
One thing you will never miss in Corbett Hideaway is fine dining.
From wild thatched roofs to to fine dining restaurants and bars,
Corbett Hideaway has everything. 'Gurney House' the restaurant is
named after a house in Nainital where Jim Corbett spent many years of
his life. It is a fine dining restaurant serving Indian, Mughalai,
Chinese and Continental cuisines. There are also some Kumaoni
specialities on the menu. Adjacent to the restaurant is 'High Bank',
an open deck area for guest who want to relish food overlooking the
Kosi River.
'Jim's Grill' is located close to the swimming pool. It has an
interesting sitting arrangement. It has an open machan like structure
with stools circling the centre. Add to this a tree running from the
middle and there you have a perfect place to relish the grilling
delicacies. 'The Tusker bar' is the poolside bar and has a good
collection of domestic and International beverages.
Seclusion, Entertainment And Work - Pick Your Choice
The resort has tiny tit bits of added things which make it quite
interesting. 'The Nature Shop' is perfect to shop for some sovenirs
and herbal cosmetics. There are also some interesting local
handicrafts available. If you are one of those in love with books then
head to the open deck where a library awaits you. Besides one can also
indulge in swimming, billiards, table tennis, cricket, badminton and
archery. Also, there is evergreen angling and fishing in the natural
Mahaseer pool close by where fish are released after catch.
The resort is also for business cum pleasure trips as it has adequate
conferencing facility. You can organise seminars and conferences here
in the conference hall which has a seating capacity of 150 people in
auditorium formation. 125 in class formation and 45 in U shape
formation. There are also other equipments, audio and visual aids and
LCD projection etc. If you have some extra time then it would be best to travel to Valley of Flowers (located nearby) to get more close to nature.
