About Samode Haveli

Situated in the heart of the Pink City of Jaipur, the Samode Haveli is a classic reminder of the royal past. The haveli was originally built by Rawal Sheo Singhji who belonged to the Samode clan of Rajasthan. This clan claimed relation with Prithviraj Singhji, the famous Kachhawaha ruler. Rawal Sheo Singhji was the Prime Minister in the court of the Rajputs and this haveli served as the suburban manor house for him and his family.

The haveli was finally converted into a Heritage Hotel in the year 1988. Today, it offers its guests not only a comfortable stay but also an opportunity to take a virtual walk back into the royal era. One of the highlights of the haveli is the elephant ramp that was specifically built for the purpose of the marriage ceremony of Rawal Sahib's aunt. Personalized service for each of the guests, in an environment that merges history with modernity, ensures that the everyone gets what is preferred and wanted. Exploring the beautiful city of Jaipur while staying at the Samode Haveli is one worthwhile idea.

As a heritage hotel, Samode Haveli has earned quiet a few commendable mentions from reputed names. For example, the haveli found a place in the hotel hipster, Herbert Ypma's (writer of Hip Hotels Book series) top 20 all time favourites - Sunday Times May 2005 and also featured in the list of Tatler's 101 best hotels 2006.

Facilities on Offer

There are 29 rooms in total for the purpose of accommodation which include double rooms, deluxe rooms, suites and cottages. The interior of each of the rooms is a visual delight. Decorated with authentic antiques, fixtures and old family portraits, the rooms exude a classy elegance. The two suites, Maharaja and Maharani are lavish with every inch of the walls and ceilings covered with lovely paintings and exquisite mirror work. Staying in these suites are a one time experience for guests. Most of rooms have a separate dressing area. In brief, the accommodation of Samode haveli is as regal as it sounds.

Samode Haveli offers its guests Indian as well as Continental Cuisine. The dining hall of the haveli is richly decorated with hand paintings all over. There is also an open verandah where guests can enjoy a cup of tea in the afternoon. Special candle light dinners is also on offer. There is also a bar in Samode Haveli.

Recreational facilities for guests include an open air swimming pool with Moroccan design tiles, Jacuzzi and a wading pool for children. Here, guests can refresh their senses by splashing in the cool water. Refreshmnet can also be gained in the steam room and the ayurvedic massage centre. The green garden filled with colourful and fragrant flowers are a perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. Cultural and puppet shows every evening enliven the entire atmosphere and the raises the spirit of the guests. For interested guests arrangements can be made to play golf at the Jaipur Golf Course as well.

More than all this, Samode Haveli offers its guests an opportunity to visit the local crafts bazaars which is situated quiet closeby. Items like blue pottery, hand block print, embroidery, jewellery and enamel work are worth seeing and shop for.
