Thadlaskein Lake

56 kms from Shillong was according to legend dug by ends of bows by members of U Sajiar Niangli`s clan, a rebel general of the Jaintia Raja.

Nartiang

65 kms from Shillong and 24 km from Jowai, Nartiang was once the headquarters of the Jaintia Kings. The village is famous for a cluster of monoliths of which the tallest is said to have been the walking stick of U Mar Phalyngki, the Goliath of Jaintia legend. An ancient temple of Durga is another attraction.

Syndai

This village is dotted with a number of caves and caverns and has become very popuIar amongst cavers and adventure tourists.
