Gateway of India
Maharashtra- An Illusion Of Nature
Situated on the western side of India, the state of Maharashtra is
the land of striking diversities and exceptional liveliness. The land
is studded all over with nature's marvel like splendorous stretch of
hill stations, picture perfect beaches and man made wonders like the
mighty forts, serene temples and rock cut caves. Nestling calmly by
the side of Arabian sea providing splendid views, and having Sacred
rivers like Godavari flowing through it, Maharashtra provides
something for both leisurely travelers and devoted pilgrims.
With big cities like Mumbai, Pune and fast paced lives, features like
home to world's biggest film industry, country's fastest growing area,
Maharashtra, at first impression seems like a state running a race to
become the most developed part of India. But slowly when you explore
the interiors of Maharashtra, it starts giving you an insight into its
another aspect, the small, calm and spiritual cities. Shirdi, as the
abode of Sai Baba and Nasik, for the Maha Kumbh Mela are considered to
be an important pilgrim destination through out the world.
Maharashtra is also famous among tourists due to the ravishing 720 km
coastline that stretches from Dahanu and Bordi in North to Goa in the
south. In the calm environment of these beaches, you have countless
options to choose from. You can indulge in some water sports, explore
historical monuments on the sea front, or if you are in a mood to just
laze around, how about a refreshing sun bath. Juhu Beach, Tarkali
Beach, Marve, Minori and Gorai Beach are few of the world famous
beaches on the land of Maharashtra. From the sands of the beaches,
head to the heights of hill stations which are designed by nature just
right for the adventure lovers and dare devils. Carry your trekking
gear and you are all set to unearth the hidden fantasies amidst the
woods. Mahabaleshwar, Lonavala- Khandala, Bhandardara, Panchgani and
Matheran are few of the most visited hill stations in Maharashtra.
The state sees a huge number of tourist coming here just to
experience the fascinations that man once built on the face of earth.
Maharashtra is home to around 350 forts and ancient rock cut caves.
Ajanta Caves, Elephanta caves and Ellora caves, that have been
recognized as a World heritage site, attracts a large chunk of tourist
and researchers. The forts of Sindhugarh and Raigarh reminds us of the
bravery and courage of great Maratha warriors.
So, if you are planning to visit the privileged land of India, don't
forget to spare time for exploring charming Maharashtra because every
second you spend in Maharashtra. will be exceptional and priceless.
