Indian Fairs & Festivals In MaySummer Festival (Rajasthan &Tamil Nadu) - 7th to 9th May, 2010 This three day festival is greatly celebrated at Mount Abu in Rajasthan and Ooty in Tamil Nadu. Tourist are heartily welcomed to spend a week in the evergreen hillocks and rejuvenate themselves. Cultural programmes and tribal traditions are highlighted on the auspicious occasion. Buddha Purnima (North India) - 26th to 28th May, 2010 Celebrated on the full moon night (Purnima), in the month of Vaisakha, the festival commemorates the birth anniversary of Lord Gautam Buddha. To pay homage before the Lord, pilgrims from different corner of the world visit Bodh Gaya in Bihar. Temples and streets are decorated with flowers and colorful flags. Special cuisines and cultural programmes are organized with the starting of festival and continuous till the last hour of its completion.
