Indian Fairs & Festivals In December

Lumbini Festival (Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh) - 10th to 12th December, 2010

Organized every year at the Nagarjunasagar dam in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, Lumbini festival highlights the importance of Buddhism. As the name indicates, the event aims to throw light on the sacred birth place of Lord Gautam Buddha (Lumbini), religion teaching and Buddhist culture in the state.

Christmas (All over India) - 25th December, 2010

Merry Christmas is observed across the globe. Though it is a Christian festival, people of all religion take part to celebrate the birth anniversary of Lord Jesus Christ. They decorate their home and surroundings with colorful stars and bulbs and start welcoming the festival a week prior to its date. Children are surprised with gifts by Christmas father and grand parties are thrown to excite the festive aura.

Winter Festival (Mount Abu, Rajasthan) - 29th to 31st December, 2010

This three-day festival is organized in the lofty hillocks of Mount Abu in Rajasthan. Every year, in the wintry days of December, the Tourism Department of Rajasthan put best effort to arrange the auspicious event. Cultural activities, rowing competitions and Cricket matches are prime attractions, which attracts tourists from different parts of the world.
