Saputara, which means abode of the serpents is Gujarat`s picturesque hill resort. Situated at a height of 872. 9 metres on the second highest plateau of the Sahayadri range. Saputara overlooks a lush, green valley. Several hills which surround the plateau make fine observation points. Saputara is at the heart of the Dangs district which is the most thickly forested area in Gujarat, and reflects the vibrant tribal culture of the area. As its name suggests Saputara is known for snake worship. Tribals come here on festival days like Holi and Vash Darash to worship the snake on the banks of river Sarpaganga.
