Getting There

By Air

Goa is very conveniently connected to the rest of the country via domestic airlines. Both domestic and International flights operate from Dabolim Airport in Goa. The domestic airlines providing flights to Goa are Indian Airlines, Air Deccan, Jet Airways, Air Sahara, Spice Jet and Kingfisher Airlines. These flights connect Goa to Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Patna and Ranchi everyday and weekly to Ahmedabad, Kochi, Kozhikode and Lakshadweep.

Apart from the domestic ones, several Charter flights also operate from UK, Germany and Kuwait from October to May. Apart from that there are flights to Mumbai round the year and from there a forty five minute flight will take you to Dabolim Airport in Goa.

By Rail

Goa is well connected by rails through Konkan railways. And there are also some trains of Southern Central Railways There are daily trains to Delhi, Mumbai and Thiruvanthapuram. Train tickets can also be reserved through Internet now. Goa is also linked to Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Pune via Londa. Goa has two main railway stations both of them in Southern Goa. Margao is the Southern Railway terminus and and Vasco da Gama station is the Konkan Railways terminus. Konkan Railways also connects Goa to Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Mangalore and Ernakulam.

There are daily buses of Goa state run Kadamba Transport Corporation plying between Goa and Mumbai, Pune, Aurangabad, Bangalore, Karwar, Hampi, Mangalore and Hyderabad

Local Transport

Tourist taxis are easily available and operate on point to point fares. For short distances around the town, auto rickshaws are available. Peculiar to Goa are the motor cycle taxis that operate all through the area. Motor bikes are also available on hire for visitors Launches and flat bottomed ferries operate on certain sections of the waterways.

You will either get a 'Motorcycle Taxi' which is pretty famous and convenient way of travelling in Goa. Single passengers board these black and yellow bikes with the 'pilots'.

Or if you have a valid driving licence then you can also hire a two wheeler on per day rental charges. A range of vehicles -Cars, Jeeps, mini-buses, coaches and luxury coaches for individuals or groups are available on hire.
